What Mula is
The short version, before anything else
What is Mula, in one paragraph?
Mula is a platform for small and mid-size textile and fashion brands to tell the story of their products with evidence. It gives each piece a public, bilingual passport that stays with it, turns the records a brand already holds into shareable impact reports, and offers a readiness pathway from documentation habits to export packs to framework preparation. A person from Mula works beside your team while you set it up.
Is Mula a certification?
No. Mula is not a certifier and is not affiliated with any certifier or standards body. The readiness pathway prepares a brand for frameworks such as SBTi, Net Zero, and B Corp-oriented reviews. It does not award them, and nothing Mula produces should be presented as a certificate.
Who makes Mula?
Mula is made by PT Nara Inovasi Indonesia, based in Jakarta and founded in 2026.
Is Mula only for Indonesian brands?
Indonesia first, by design. The platform is built for maker-heavy chains anywhere they exist, and the marketing site is in English with an Indonesian toggle for that reason.

Invite-only, and what that means in practice
Why is Mula invite-only?
Because we onboard by hand, one brand at a time, with a person beside your team. That keeps the evidence rules intact while we grow. It is a capacity choice, not a selection of who deserves to be here. Any honest starting point is a door.
What happens after I request an invitation?
We read what you sent, and if it fits what we can support right now, we write back to set up a conversation. If we cannot take you on yet, we say so and keep your details for when we can. Either way, you hear from a person.
Do I need certificates or a compliance team to start?
No. Most brands start with what they already have: supplier records, photos, batch notes, handwritten logs, a voice note from the workshop. Evidence tiers label how well each claim is supported. Nothing is gated behind a certificate.
What does it cost?
Pricing is published when Mula opens to general availability. During the invite-only phase, terms are agreed brand by brand in the onboarding conversation. There is no public price grid.

Who owns what, and who decides
Who owns the data I put into Mula?
You do. Your product, material, batch, and supplier records are yours. Mula holds and structures them so passports, reports, and packs can be produced from them.
Can I take my data with me if I leave?
Yes. Your own component data can be exported as CSV at offboarding, within a 90-day window after your plan ends. An operator on our side publishes the file. It is not a self-serve download. What leaves is your data. Passport pages, templates, theme configuration, QR images, hangtag artwork, report documents, and the passport addresses stay with the Mula platform.
What happens to my passports if I stop?
They go dark. A passport that is no longer active shows a short, plain page, with no detail about why. The address does not change and the printed code still resolves to it, so the label on the piece is still worth keeping. There is a grace window after a plan ends before this happens, and we tell you before it does.
How does maker consent work?
Every maker record on Mula carries a consent status. Makers decide whether they are named on a public passport, in what form, and to what extent. A name is only published while the brand's attestation for that record is active, and consent can be withdrawn at any time. When it is, the name is off the public passport within 24 hours. Heritage or community attributions never appear without granted consent, and community-level attributions are reviewed by a person before publication.
Do you use AI, and what does it see?
Mula uses a rented AI service under a data processing agreement to help structure records and drafts. Maker records are held back from it. AI never fills a claim field, a recycled percentage, a certificate reference, a maker attribution, an attribution scope, an attestation, or switches a badge on. Where it helped, the record carries an assisted mark that stays after a person approves it, and that mark never reaches a passport. Nothing on a public passport is generated without the brand's data behind it and the brand's review in front of it.

What goes on the passport, and what never does
Will you publish something my brand cannot back up?
No. If a claim cannot be supported yet, it stays off the public passport. Missing data shows as a gap, never as a default. Every public figure sits next to its evidence tier, and the methodology behind our numbers is open.
Can I choose not to show impact figures?
Yes. The metrics engine runs for every brand, and which figures appear on a public passport is your choice, metric by metric. Some brands show many. Some show none. Both are legitimate.
Which languages do passports use?
Every passport and every methodology page is in English and Indonesian, on the same address, with a toggle.
Do you ever name children or young makers?
No. No one under 18 is named on any Mula surface, regardless of consent. The attribution goes to the workshop, the group, or the collective instead, in every tier and in every export.

Will Mula help with EU rules like ESPR and the anti-greenwashing directive?
Mula is built so that a brand's records are structured the way European buyers and frameworks are starting to ask for them. We frame this as readiness rather than compliance: the rules are still being finalised, timelines move, and Mula makes no compliance guarantee.
Are there plans beyond textiles and fashion?
Yes, in time. Furniture, wood, and rattan are the next chains we intend to serve. Textiles and fashion come first.
