02 · The numbers
Impact reports
Numbers computed from data you already hold, each one traceable back to the method and the factor version that produced it.
Five simple numbers, carried at every rung
Computed from what a product record already holds, so there is no separate data project before the first figure appears. They are in the never-gated list, which means a free account gets them in full.
- Recycled material, as a percentage and a weight
- Textile waste avoided
- Material carbon, estimated
- Circular potential
- Better-materials score
Inclusive Metrics, and why they had to be built
Northern metrics measure what a producer could afford to have audited: metered energy, treated effluent, inspected facilities. A producer doing the right thing without capital scores zero on every one of them. This family measures what the production actually is instead.
- Passive Energy Ratio
- Soil to Soil
- Micro-scale Water Management
- Local Value Retention
- Collective Resilience
- Intergenerational Craft Retention
- Circulated Materials
The report ladder
One report at three depths. Twelve numbered sections at every depth, so a section a brand does not hold renders locked with its condition visible rather than being removed: a number that jumps from 08 to 11 makes a reader think something was hidden.
- Basic: all twelve sections, ten of them in full, every figure beside its evidence tier and its coverage
- Advanced: adds Hotspots and Comparison, the two sections a buyer asks for by name
- Comprehensive: adds the methodology annex and the portfolio view
- A deeper rung never changes a figure, because the figure comes from the same calculation
How the numbers are made
A rule-based engine, not a model. A figure is composition against weight against a published factor, computed the same way every time, carrying the version of the factor library that produced it and the date it was computed. Nothing here is written by an assistant: AI never produces a figure and never fills a claim field. The full statement, with the factors, their sources and the boundary of what is inside the calculation, is on the methodology page.
Every aggregate states what it was computed from
A brand-level figure computed from a catalogue with holes is not that brand's total, and it is never presented as one. The coverage line travels with the figure into the dashboard, the report, the export pack, and the interface a buyer reads.
Reports, and what they will not say
A report carries the evidence tier beside every figure rather than in an appendix, the factor version and the computation date on every page, and a line stating it is a snapshot as at that date. The cover says it is a preparation record and not an assessment.
Mula calculates. It does not certify, and a figure carries the evidence tier it was given and nothing stronger than that. The dashboard is where ambition lives; a public page carries only facts a reader can check, so composite scores and letter grades stay in the dashboard.
Every number here can be taken apart.
The methodology page carries the factors, their sources, their versions, and the boundary of what is computed. It is public, and it does not sit behind an account.
