Check passport links before printing a QR

A printed label stays with the product after a storefront changes. Decide what the code should open, then test that exact destination before printing.

Choose the intended destination

Keep a product's Shopify storefront address separate from its public passport address. Record which product or variant the passport covers. A link to a shop listing is useful for shopping; it is not a substitute for checking the information behind a passport link.

Test the public experience

When a reviewed public passport is available, open its exact address while signed out and scan the QR with a phone. Check the product identity, language, images and supporting statements. A draft preview that only your team can open is not a public destination for a printed label.

Review a physical proof

Print a small proof at the intended label size and test it on the actual material. Check contrast, clear space around the code and readability after normal handling. Keep a record of the approved URL and artwork version before ordering a batch of labels.

Confirm storefront placement later

Automatic Shopify placement and update behaviour are not confirmed by this guide. For the planned connection, agree where a passport link should appear, who approves the change and what happens when a product is renamed or removed. Keep printed passport destinations stable when reorganising a storefront.

The essentials

  • Check the exact public destination while signed out.
  • Scan a physical proof before a print run.
  • Confirm storefront changes and publication permission separately.

Where we stand

Mula is independent of Shopify. The Shopify integration is in development. These guides describe preparation you can do now and the intended review process; they do not confirm installation or live synchronisation.
